Is the consulate in downtown Seattle?
No: the office is at 711 Powell Avenue SW in Renton, a suburb south of Seattle, about 20-30 minutes from downtown via I-5 or I-405, with parking available.
I live in Portland. Do I have to drive up to Renton?
All of Oregon belongs to this district, so your fixed office is Seattle/Renton (about 3 hours via I-5). Ask about the mobile consulates that periodically visit Oregon to spare yourself the trip.
What do I do in an emergency from Alaska?
Call the consular protection line, (206) 271-5309, also on WhatsApp. From Alaska most matters can be triaged by phone or email (consseattle@minex.gob.gt) before planning any travel.
