I live in Washington, D.C. Do I do my paperwork at the Embassy?
No: consular services for the area (passport, consular ID, civil registry) are handled at this consulate general in Rockville, Maryland, whose district includes the District of Columbia. The Embassy on R Street handles diplomatic matters.
Is the consulate still in Silver Spring?
No. The current office, per the Embassy, is at 979 Rollins Avenue, Rockville, MD 20852, in the White Flint area, reachable from the Metro Red Line. Double-check the address if you had the old one on file.
Does this consulate cover Virginia and West Virginia?
Yes, its district spans Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and West Virginia in full. For distant communities, the consulate runs mobile consulate days announced on its social channels.

- Although historically known as the Silver Spring consulate, the current office is in Rockville, at 979 Rollins Avenue.
- It is the only Guatemalan consular office for four jurisdictions: D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia; there is no separate consulate in Washington.
